#### OpenAI's new direction: Creating a sustainable AI ecosystem

OpenAI’s DevDay 2024 signifies a strategic shift, focusing on ecosystem development rather than high-profile product announcements.

Though this strategy may seem less thrilling to the broader audience, it reflects a deeper, more mature grasp of the AI industry’s present challenges and opportunities.

What new things can we expect?

#### [Prompt caching](https://platform.openai.com/docs/guides/prompt-caching): A potential game-changer for reducing developer costs

One key announcement is the launch of Prompt Caching, designed to cut developers' costs and latency by offering a 50% discount on recently processed input tokens. This will lead to significant savings for apps that reuse context.

At a press conference, OpenAI's head of product, Olivier Godement, highlighted the company's progress, noting GPT-3 costs have been slashed by nearly 1000x in just two years. This reduction opens new opportunities for startups and businesses to pursue previously unaffordable applications.

#### Vision fine-tuning: Exploring a new horizon in visual AI technology

OpenAI also introduced vision fine-tuning for [GPT-4o](https://openai.com/index/hello-gpt-4o/), enabling developers to enhance the model's visual understanding with images and text. This update could significantly impact areas like autonomous vehicles, medical imaging, and visual search.

#### [Realtime API](https://platform.openai.com/docs/api-reference/introduction): Closing the divide in conversational AI

OpenAI launched its Realtime API in public beta, allowing developers to build low-latency, multimodal experiences like speech-to-speech applications. This enables ChatGPT’s voice controls in apps. To showcase its potential, OpenAI demoed an updated version of [Wanderlust](https://github.com/widgetti/wanderlust), where users can naturally converse with the app to plan trips, even allowing mid-sentence interruptions for a more human-like interaction.

#### Model distillation: Advancing toward more accessible AI solutions

The most transformative announcement was Model Distillation, a workflow allowing developers to use outputs from advanced models like [o1-preview](https://openai.com/index/introducing-openai-o1-preview) or GPT-4o to enhance the performance of smaller, efficient models like [GPT-4o mini](https://openai.com/index/gpt-4o-mini-advancing-cost-efficient-intelligence/). This method helps smaller companies access advanced capabilities without the high computational costs, bridging the gap between cutting-edge models and more accessible alternatives.

On Wednesday, July 7, we met in the Bitnoise headquarters for the first Bitnoise_Meet ever.

Due to the pandemic, we not only have lost the possibility to get in touch with developers outside of Bitnoise, but Covid-19 has also significantly limited our contacts with each other. And we really miss our creative brainstorming. We’ve decided it has to change. 

Bitnoise_meet is a space we’ve created to exchange experiences and learn from each other. We believe that sharing knowledge brings only benefits, and self-development is very important to us. A fresh look at the problem often brings surprising results, and the efficiency of our work increases.

The first meeting was dedicated to Node.js. Our senior developers, who, based on their previous backend experience, have started their adventure with Node.js at Bitnoise, shared their knowledge and their story during Q&A and networking. 

Meeting, exchanging experiences and getting to know your perspectives was wonderful.

A few interesting points from our deep conversation:

- With TypeScript and linting, you can still keep the syntax close to Java. We know from experience that whoever gets into TypeScript doesn't want to come back to JS.

- The backing of tech giants has pushed the most popular libraries to a new level and improved their quality significantly. The state-of-the-art technologies and tools provide a sense of security and programming comfort known to developers from statically typed languages.

- Undoubtedly, the greatest advantage of Node.js is its flexibility and the ability to adapt the application to business requirements instantly.

On September 9, we met in Wrocław during Bitnoise_Meet #2 Wrocław edition.
Wrocław was wonderful, as well as the audience. We were in awe of the warm welcome in the capital of Lower Silesia.

**The first GeekUp. Unplugged - a meeting for all fans of technology and board games, is behind us. The atmosphere was fantastic, the competition was fierce and the conversations were endless. Thank you for being with us!**

But they are also calm souls who wonderfully materialize when we order lunch. Bitnoise means tireless ping-pong players and partners for long, interesting conversations in the kitchen.


But most importantly, Bitnoise is a tight-knit team that loves to spend time together!

Bitnoise Kit - 2022 Edition

On the last weekend of May, we celebrated our 13th birthday! On the one hand, we have the impression that we have known and worked with each other forever, but on the other, we cannot believe that so much time has passed!
This year's celebration was inspired by our values, and our integration trip greatly reflected them.

Here's how these 13 years were summed up by the founders of Bitnoise, Adrian Roth and Lukasz Roth:

“Bitnoise means technology enthusiasts who constantly develop. It means countless conversations at the coffee machine and an initiative that we all take. In the join.com project, we use a chatbot for deployment. How do we do it? What has changed since we've been working with the chatbot? How can you introduce and use such a solution in your project? And above all - is it worth it?

At the stroke of five, the event came alive. The crowd listened intently as our host for the evening, seasoned senior developer Łukasz Duraj, began to speak. He led us into the fascinating world of Event Storming, breaking down its concepts and demonstrating how to use it in daily programming work. Łukasz's presentation was both clear and engaging.

In a significant portion of the meeting, Łukasz demonstrated the Event Storming process. He showed us how this tool can effectively garner insights into a client's business. The hands-on experience was the order of the day. A practical session allowed us to delve into Event Storming. This hands-on approach is the true hallmark of Bitnoise_meet. It's about doing, not just seeing.

Bitnoise_meet's ambience? Electric! Beyond being a platform for learning, it was a place to connect with like-minded individuals. Friendships were forged, and experiences were exchanged. Everyone left with something more than they came with.

The promise of "it will happen" came to life, exceeding all expectations. The anticipation for the next edition is already palpable. Until then, here's to exploration, learning, and, of course, creating a bit of noise!

#### Embracing the Unseen Artist: AI in Design
In the first quarter of 2023, our conversations, meetings, and brainstorming sessions began to revolve around a particular theme that dominated our work ethos - Artificial Intelligence. As we immersed ourselves in the potential of AI, an idea emerged that was as daring as it was exciting. We decided to invite an artificial intelligence system into our creative process.

#### Navigating the Uncharted Territory of AI-Generated Designs
The decision to work with AI raised a problem: do we start with defining the motif, or do we decide on the gadgets first? After some deliberation, we chose the former, employing our AI collaborator to help generate a motif inspired by our shared love for hiking. We reviewed numerous AI-generated graphics before we found one that perfectly embodied our theme and fit our anniversary hoodie.

#### Overcoming Obstacles: A Creative Conundrum
The initial victory, however, was just the start of a series of hurdles. Despite the exceptional talent of our designer, transposing the AI-generated design onto our chosen hoodies presented a significant challenge. Quality is a non-negotiable aspect of our work, and we wanted to ensure that the print on the hoodie did not undermine the material's integrity. After conducting several tests with multiple printing vendors, we finally struck a balance between design integrity and material quality.

#### Broadening the Design Horizon
Though the design was perfect for the hoodies, it didn't adapt well to our other intended gadgets - t-shirts, socks, and mugs. This predicament forced us to re-evaluate our strategy. We revisited our AI collaborator with a new vision, creating a collection of designs that drew inspiration from the initial motif. We embraced minimalism in our unique designs, emphasising that "less can indeed be more."

#### Crafting Tokens of Appreciation: Beyond Company Merchandise
Our intent behind creating these gadgets extends far beyond producing standard, logo-branded corporate merchandise. We see these gadgets as unique tokens of gratitude and appreciation for our invaluable team members. Every item we create is more than just a piece of merchandise; it's a symbol of Bitnoise's spirit and a testament to our gratitude for our dedicated team.

Midjourney is an AI tool designed for creating visual content. This tool can help you design a heartfelt graphic or illustration visually representing your love story.

**How to Use Midjourney:**

**Access the tool:** Join the Midjourney discord server from this [link](https://discord.com/invite/midjourney) and choose your subscription plan by simply writing /subscribe on any Midjourney’s channel (or on the website [https://www.midjourney.com/account](https://www.midjourney.com/account))
**Describe your vision:** type in a detailed description. For a Valentine’s Day theme, you might use “two lovers watching the sunset, with the quote “Together is our favourite place to be”.” Again - you can ask for inspiration from your favourite artist!

**Review & Adjust:** examine the generated graphic. You can adjust your instructions based on the outcome.

Suno AI is an AI that specialises in music composition. With Suno.Ai, you can create a love ballad that melodically expresses your feelings, making for a deeply personal and unique gift.

**How to Use Suno AI:**

**Select your style:** create an account on suno.ai, choose a musical style that resonates with your love story or select "Custom Mode" and let the magic happen.
**Input Lyrics:** use your ChatGPT-generated poem or any special phrases as lyrics. Or generate a completely new text;  it’s totally up to you. Pay attention to marking in the text what the [verse] and the [chorus] are. You will get the best results when the text is rhythmic and rhyming.
**Generate the music:** allow Suno AI to compose the music based on your input.
